Scott Patterson
Vice President / Wealth Management, Financial Advisor
About Scott

Scott joined Janney in 2026 with more than 26 years of experience in the financial services industry, helping individuals and families pursue their long-term financial goals with clarity and confidence. He began his career at Legg Mason in Baltimore and went on to serve clients at A.G. Edwards (2005–2007), Wachovia Securities/Wells Fargo Advisors (2007–2011), and Raymond James (2011–2026). Throughout his career, he has remained committed to delivering disciplined investment guidance and comprehensive financial planning tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

What attracted Scott most to Janney is the firm’s long reputation for stability and its people-first culture. While many firms in the industry are becoming increasingly driven by top-down economics, Janney remains committed to a client-centered approach that is focused on the client/advisor relationship at the local level. This allows him to provide the sophisticated resources of a major financial institution, like top-tier research and advanced planning technology, while maintaining the agility and personal touch of a smaller, dedicated team. Ultimately, Scott wanted to be at a firm where his clients are names, not account numbers, and where he has the autonomy to put their interest at the center of every decision—and Janney does just that.

Scott graduated summa cum laude from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Finance and holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist® (AAMS®) designation.

A lifelong Maryland resident, Scott lives in Freeland, Maryland with his wife, Sarah, and their four children: Brady, Camryn, McKenna, and Nevada. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, is active in his church, Grace Fellowship in Timonium, Maryland, and is also an accomplished musician.
