Certified Financial Planner™ professional (CFP®) - This is the highest designation in the financial planning profession. Topics covered include Risk Management, Investments, Tax Planning & Management, Retirement & Employee Benefits, Estate Planning, and the Financial Planning Process. Designees must also uphold CFP Board's Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct, and Financial Planning Practice Standards. These standards require that CFP professionals provide financial planning services with a fiduciary standard of care and act in the best interests of their clients at all times.
Certification in Long-Term Care (CLTC®) - This program provides a comprehensive education on helping clients solve their long term care needs, including the resources that will be required as they age, such as housing and services, and how they will be paid for.
Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) - This curriculum covers the entire retirement planning process, including sources of retirement income, employer-sponsored retirement plans, income taxation, retirement cash flow planning, asset management, estate planning, personal savings and investments, Social Security and Medicare, and meeting multiple financial objectives.
Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) - The Certified Investment Analyst (CIMA®) designation focuses on asset allocation, ethics, due diligence, risk measurement, investment policy, and performance measurement. As this certification signifies a high level of consulting expertise, only individuals who are investment consultants with at least three years of professional experience are eligible to try for the CIMA.
