About John

For over 35 years, John has served as a Financial Advisor, striving to provide his clients with the highest level of investment services while helping them to address their investment needs and to help achieve their financial goals. Over the course of his career, John has developed a professional philosophy that focuses on comprehensive wealth & asset management through the use of financial planning & asset allocation. Each of his clients is extremely valued and attentive personal attention is paid to each of their financial needs. His practice includes retirement planning for individuals and families, as well as financial advice to foundations and non-profit organizations.


John’s client service philosophy revolves around building & protecting wealth with a long-term strategy. As the foundation of his business, John has used this strategy to develop his disciplined advisory approach that has helped clients achieve their financial goals through the use of four tenets:


• Understanding what makes you unique.

• Structuring your portfolio if using advisory* services.

• Recommending investment strategies.

• Reviewing your plan.


John’s accomplished career began in 1984 in the financial services industry. John spent the first three years of his career as a Financial Advisor for Paine Weber Jackson & Curtis. John moved on to become the First Vice President / Investments at Legg Mason Wood Walker, where he would excel until 2005 and spend nine years on the Presidents Council. He then transitioned to be a Senior Vice President / Investments for Smith Barney over the next four years, again serving on the Presidents Council for two of them. Attracted to Janney Montgomery Scott because of the Firm’s client-centric mission and its open investment architecture, John joined Janney in April, 2009.


John earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Management at the Virginia Commonwealth University, with a minor in Economics. A strong proponent of community involvement, John served on the Board of Directors for St. Michael’s Episcopal School from 2005–2010. He has served as a member of the Executive Committee, Building Committee, Chairman of the Finance Committee and as Treasurer. John currently serves on the VCU Athletics’ Advisory Board.


John lives in Bon Air with his wife Ann. They have two daughters who reside in Richmond.

About David

David joined Janney in 2017, attracted to the boutique nature of the firm and accessibility to the senior leadership and support teams in the home office. He had spent the previous 21 years with Merrill Lynch as a senior

financial advisor, earning accolades as a top wealth manager in Richmond and holding various leadership roles in the division.


At Janney, David has been named to Janney's Presidents Club and Masters Club and is a regular attendee at the Janney Elite Financial Conference in Philadelphia. He has also been nationally recognized by AdvisorHub as one of the "200 Fastest Growing Advisors to Watch in 2023" and by Forbes Magazine as a 2024 Best-In-State Wealth Advisor.


Outside of the office, David has been active in numerous charitable and civic organizations including the Ronald McDonald House, Bon Secours Hospital, Richmond Little League, St. Michaels Episcopal School and Washington & Lee University.


David and his college sweetheart, Caroline, have been married for over 25 years and reside in Richmond with their two boys. They enjoy traveling, playing golf, and skiing.

About Kristina

Kristina entered the industry at Merrill Lynch in 2013, joining David in 2015. In 2017 she followed David to Janney and joined John in 2020. Prior to joining the financial services industry, she worked as an Event Coordinator at a Country Club in North Chesterfield, VA.


Kristina and Stephanie handle the administrative side of our operations as well as assist with compliance as well as client service. In addition to providing service and support to clients, Kristina handles financial planning responsibilities for the team. Kristina was also selected to serve on the Private Client Associate Council at Janney


Kristina attended Radford University studying History. She currently lives in Midlothian, VA with her husband and daughter. Kristina enjoys crafting and traveling with her family.

About Stephanie

Stephanie brings with her 16 years of industry experience, most recently on the administrative management team in Richmond at Merrill Lynch. She and Kristina handle the administrative side of our operations as well as assist with compliance and client service. She has completed all of her investment exams and can assist with order entry and account re-balancing.  She also has earned the distinction of being a Business Productivity Specialist to help the team and clients with organization and efficiency. She is incredibly organized, a quick learner and has a great personality. 


Outside of the office, Stephanie is an avid crafter and loves spending time outside working in the garden, relaxing, or antique shopping with her Mom. She currently lives in Prince George with her husband Wesley and rescue dog Miller Lite.

About Dan

Dan Wantrobski is Director of Research at Janney Montgomery Scott and has over 20 years of industry experience as a technical analyst and strategist.

 

Mr. Wantrobski spent the first 10 years of his career at Paine Webber and UBS, where he developed his knowledge as a technician and macro strategist following the equity, fixed income, commodity, and currency markets. He has also spent time at Fox Pitt Kelton, Bedford Quantitative, and New Albion Partners. From 2008 to 2016, Mr. Wantrobski served as Janney’s technical strategist.

 

Mr. Wantrobski regularly comments in the media on key issues arising in the industry, with appearances in outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, The Philadelphia Inquirer, CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg TV. He is also a frequent speaker at financial industry conferences, including the Ernst & Young Annual Firm Conference where he has served as a guest speaker for the last five years.

 

Mr. Wantrobski is a Chartered Market Technician ® (CMT) and attended Villanova University, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Finance.

 

He currently resides in Moorestown, NJ where he volunteers as a firefighter with Relief Engine Co. 312.

About Ed

Ed advises Janney clients and their families through their unique investment journeys by providing advanced estate planning, wealth transfer, and income tax planning strategies. In addition, Ed develops tailored financial planning for high-net-worth clients by reviewing their complex needs and goals to help ensure their legacy benefits the heirs and charities they care about the most.

 

Ed has a diverse financial background with over three decades of varied experience including serving as a principal for a national public accounting firm, trust counsel for major financial institutions, and as a practicing trusts and estates lawyer. He has extensive experience in estate, fiduciary, and individual income tax planning for ultra-high net worth clients. He also has significant experience with asset protection planning, closely held business owners, and entity structuring.

 

Ed was previously a practicing tax and estate planning lawyer in Connecticut and Florida and has been a frequent speaker at seminars on various tax, financial, and estate planning topics. He previously served on the editorial advisory board for a national estate planning publication, and has been a speaker for the FICPA, regional and national ABA conferences, and the Florida Attorney/Trust Officer Liaison Conference, among others.

 

Ed received his J.D. from Quinnipiac University and his B.B.A. in Accounting from St. Bonaventure University. His professional affiliations include East Coast Estate Planning Council; The Florida Bar, Member RPPTL Section; New York State Bar Association; Connecticut State Bar Association; Boca Raton Estate Planning Council, Board Member; South Palm Beach County Bar Association; and United States Tax Court. About Guy

Guy LeBas is Janney’s Chief Fixed Income Strategist, as well as Head of Fixed Income for Janney Capital Management. As Strategist, he is responsible for providing direction to the Firm’s clients on the macroeconomic, interest rate, and bond market investing climate.

 

Guy authors bond market periodicals, which provide relative value recommendations across the fixed income spectrum. With Janney Capital Management, Guy is responsible for overseeing the Firm’s discretionarily managed bond portfolios, which take a client-tailored approach to generating consistent income across interest rate environments.

 

Guy joined Janney in 2006. Prior to joining Janney, Guy served as Interest Rate Risk Manager for U.S. Trust’s bank asset and liability portfolios, a role in which he oversaw risk and return on $20 billion of bank assets and derivatives.

 

Guy is also a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and Fox Business News, as well as a regular speaker at financial industry conferences. He received his education from Swarthmore College, holds an M.S. in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University, and is a CFA Charterholder.

About Mark

Mark Luschini is the Chief Investment Strategist for Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, leading the Investment Strategy Group. In that capacity Mark is responsible for establishing the Firm’s broad outlook relating to conditions in the capital markets and the economy and to develop investment strategies that align with the best interest, goals, and objectives of individual and institutional clients. He also establishes the Firm’s asset allocation models used for portfolio construction and financial planning.

 

As Chief Investment Strategist, Mark serves as the Janney's investment spokesperson, offering national market commentary and developing asset allocation models and investment strategies. He chairs the investment committee and actively interfaces with both current and prospective clients.

 

Additionally, Mark directs Janney Capital Management, the Firm’s discretionary investment management division. Under his leadership, Janney Capital Management has delivered competitive investment results across multiple strategies. The total assets under management has grown to more than $4 billion, with nearly $3 billion in traditional equity and fixed income assets, and over $1 billion in various strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies utilizing exchange-traded solutions and mutual funds. Mark served on the Board of Managers for Janney, and currently serves as a Trustee for the Firm’s Pension & Profit Sharing Plan. He is a member of the Janney Wealth Management Department’s Mutual Fund and Alternative Investment Committees.

 

In Janney Capital Management, Mark chairs the Investment Committee which sets asset class and sector policy and directly participates in managing the equity, fixed income, and asset allocation strategies under its advisory. Mark has spent more than 30 years in the investment industry. He utilizes that experience to speak on topics related to macroeconomics and investment management at seminars and conferences.

 

His comments and written articles have been circulated in numerous publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal and Barron’s to the New York Times, USA Today, Financial Times, and Money magazine. He has appeared in various media outlets including CNBC, Bloomberg Television, Fox Business News, and CNN.

 

He has a BA and MBA from Gannon University and holds the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation from the Market Technicians Association

About Mike

Mike Halloran serves as an Equity Strategist in Janney’s Investment Strategy Group. Bringing over 20 years of financial service experience to Janney’s established team of professionals, Mike analyzes all asset classes with particular emphasis on equity research.

 

Prior to Janney, Mike was Vice President of Market Strategy for BPU Investment Management Group, and was responsible for the development of the firm’s global outlook and implementation of numerous investment strategies. His previous experience includes performing equity research for large cap core and growth mutual funds, and working in PNC’s investment banking organization supporting M&A, high yield, private placement, loan syndication, and derivative security transactions. He is also an adjunct finance professor and former aerospace research engineer.

 

Mike received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University and his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
