Angel Flight East “Spotlight” for Janney Montgomery Scott
Angel Flight East (AFE) is a nonprofit organization committed to providing life-saving air transportation for patients who need to travel long distances for medical care. Founded on the belief that no one should be denied the best possible treatment due to geographical barriers, AFE ensures that distance is never an obstacle to accessing top-tier healthcare.
With more than 400 volunteer pilots from 14 states across the Northeastern U.S., AFE coordinates approximately 1,000 flights each year. These pilots generously donate their time, skills, and aircraft to fly patients to distant medical facilities, covering all costs associated with the mission. This includes fuel, aircraft maintenance, and any other expenses. Patients served by AFE often require ongoing treatment, making repeat flights a crucial part of their healthcare journey. These flights provide a critical lifeline for individuals who might otherwise face insurmountable challenges reaching specialized care.
In addition to medical transport, AFE supports disaster relief by delivering emergency supplies to affected areas and helps reunite families during crises. AFE works with other volunteer pilot organizations to ensure that patients in need can access the care they require, even if the destination falls outside of its service region.
AFE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All services are provided free of charge to patients and their families, ensuring that financial constraints do not stand in the way of vital medical treatment. Through its compassionate work, AFE brings hope to countless families in need and makes a profound impact on the lives of those it serves.
