Our Team

William R. Dorman, Jr., Financial Advisor in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, office of Janney Montgomery Scott, one of the nation’s oldest and largest regional full-service brokerage firms, is dedicated to working with investors to help them meet their financial goals.
After 16 years in the banking industry, Bill began his career in the financial services industry as a Financial Advisor in Janney’s Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, office. Bill then joined Wachovia Securities as a financial advisor for over six years, and returned back to Janney in 2005 to work in the Philadelphia Headquarters.
Over the course of his career, Bill has worked to provide each investor with a comprehensive financial plan to address their financial needs – and wants – through all stages of life. His attention to detail allows Bill to create a tailored financial plan and balanced portfolio that best fits each client’s unique situation. Bill also specializes in retirement planning and works closely with the specialists in Janney’s Wealth Management department.
Bill holds his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Drexel University, and his Associates’ degree from Camden County College. He also attended the University of Pennsylvania’ College of Continuing Studies. Bill was named a Top Wealth Manager in SmartCEO Magazine in 2011 and 2012. In 2006, Bill was recognized to the National Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals. Bill has completed the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor℠ program, a Wealth Management Certification Program offered by the Firm’s internal educational division, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and now holds the AWMA® designation.
Bill is committed to continuing education within the financial services industry. For over ten years, he has lead seminars and courses throughout the Delaware Valley and has hosted a radio show on WNJC titled, “On the Money.” Bill is actively involved in Drexel University’s Alumni Association. Bill also enjoys golf and cycling, and annually participates in the American Cancer Society’s Bike-a-thon, as well as other charitable events in the Delaware Valley.

Colleen Murphy has been with the team for over 24 years, and serves as Private Client Assistant, assisting clients with all aspects of account operations and service.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe, and their two children, Madelynn and Joseph. She also enjoys watching her children play sports and going on vacation.
