Matt Lerch, Executive Vice President/Wealth Management and Branch Office Manager of the Clarion branch of Janney Montgomery Scott, met recently with Karen Hazlett, Director of the Sawmill Center for the Arts. Lerch donated a check for $750 to benefit the ongoing operations of the Cook Forest facility that benefits the culture of the region. According to Lerch “this sponsorship of the Sawmill Center certainly is representative of our family giving back to the community. My father, Orv Lerch, was the consultant in the original funding for the Verna Leith Theater as he had known Verna throughout the years and her yearning to build such a venue. Through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, the theater was built and fulfilled Verna’s dream. When I was a young teenager I participated in a summer pottery course, visited festivals and special events as well as attended several theater productions. Recently, our children observed the French and Indian War Reenactment at the Sawmill that left a lasting impression on us all. We are very fortunate to have the Sawmill facilities so close to Clarion and Karen working as the Director retaining and expanding the services there.”
