Janney was proud to serve as a Foundation Sponsor of the 11th Annual Charleston Habitat for Humanity Builders Bash last week. But this one was personal. My daughter Cara Shank recently completed her six-year term on the Charleston Habitat Board. Over those years, we've had the chance to stand together at ground breakings and home dedications – she as a Board Member, me as a sponsor and volunteer – each of us finding our own way to support families stepping into a home of their own for the first time. Those moments don't leave you. In a region where affordable housing is increasingly out of reach for working families, what Charleston Habitat does is nothing short of remarkable. In 2025 alone, they completed their 100th home build with the help of 1,286 volunteers, 8,500 hours of work, and 588 donors. Behind every one of those numbers is a family whose life looks different because this community showed up. The "Construction Meets Couture" theme made for a memorable evening, but it's the mission that keeps bringing us back.
