Janney Montgomery Scott LLC (“Janney”), a leading full-service wealth management, financial services, and investment banking firm headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, is pleased to announce that Murray Carter of CSG Capital Partners in Washington, DC has been honored by Financial Times in its 2018 list of the “Top 400 Financial Advisors.”
The list recognizes the top financial advisors at national, independent, regional, and bank broker-dealers from across the U.S. This is the sixth annual FT 400 list, produced independently by the Financial Times in collaboration with Ignites Research, a subsidiary of the FT that provides business intelligence on investment management.
“The advisors on the annual FT 400 list represent the best in the nation,” said Jerry Lombard, President of the Firm’s Private Client Group. “It is a great honor to be included on this competitive list of elite advisors. I am extremely proud of Murray and the exceptional service he puts forth each day to help his clients achieve their financial goals.”
Financial advisors from across the industry applied for consideration, having met a set of minimum requirements, including having at least 10 year’s experience and $300 million in assets under management. The applicants were then graded on six criteria: assets under management (AUM); AUM growth rate; experience; advanced industry credentials; online accessibility; and compliance records. The final FT 400 represents an impressive cohort of elite advisors, as the “average” advisor in this year’s FT 400 has 28 years’ experience and manages $1.4 billion in assets.
Murray serves as Executive Vice President/Wealth Management and is a founder of CSG Capital Partners of Janney Montgomery Scott. He has over two decades of experience in the financial services industry and has achieved the advanced designations of Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM, Accredited Investment Fiduciary™, and Certified 401(k) Professional. Mr. Carter was included in the Financial Times “Top 401(k) Plan Advisers” list in 2017 and 2015. He and his team were also recognized by The National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) as a Top Defined Contribution (DC) Advisor Team in 2018.
As an industry leader and a member of NAPA, an affiliate organization of the American Retirement Association that was created by and for retirement plan advisors, Mr. Carter has participated in the DC Fly-In Forum and has lobbied on Capitol Hill, advocating to protect clients’ rights. He received bachelor degrees in both Business Management and Economics from NC State University.
