Mitchell has dedicated his almost three-decade career to navigating the ups and downs of markets and delivering the customized investment management solutions he feels his clients deserve. Priding himself on the depth of his relationships with clients, Mitchell feels a deep personal responsibility to deliver investment results for the families he serves. He has never been satisfied with a more hands off, outsourced approach to money management so he has devoted his time and energy to the development of a discretionary, ‘in-house’ strategy.
Upon joining CSG in 2015, Mitchell was able to further refine that strategy with the rest of the team’s portfolio management group to develop what has become CSG’s Compass Portfolio Process. Leveraging the team’s resources across planning and account operations, Mitchell is able to dedicate the time and attention needed for the daily monitoring and management of client portfolios while also devoting the time to meaningfully engage with clients to understand their situations and needs.
Mitchell's passion for learning led him to pursue a degree in Political Science at the University of North Carolina and then a law degree from the Washington College of Law at American University. He loves to travel and considers his trip to the Annapurna region of Nepal with his wife Arlene to be one of his most rewarding adventures. Running the Marine Corps Marathon with Arlene in October of 2001, one month after the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon ranks as one of his most emotional moments.
Away from the office, Mitchell spends his free time with his wife, Arlene, an attorney, and their two children Max and Rebecca. Most family vacations are spent visiting our National Parks. The entire family has spent many a day kayaking on the Potomac River and both Max and Rebecca excelled at competitive slalom kayaking. When Mitchell has free time, he enjoys playing his guitar and mandolin.
