A client of ours from Cincinnati is an oral and maxillofacial dental specialist, treating conditions and injuries of the mouth, teeth, jaws, and face. He’s had the opportunity to work with Operation Smile, a non-profit organization that delivers safe surgery to people where it is needed most. They treat cleft lip and cleft palate in children. With Operation Smile, he was able to attend two trips to Nicaragua to help perform these surgeries and share techniques with the other surgeons. He showed the organization how to perform b-one grafts, and they showed him how to operate on soft tissue. Operation Smile was founded in 1982, and has since provided over 220,000 surgeries at no cost to the recipients.
