George T. Croonquist
Senior Vice President / Wealth Management, Financial Advisor
About George
In 1957 George joined Joseph Walker & Sons in their Hackensack office. Subsequently in 1963 Montgomery Scott acquired that office. In 1971 Janney, Battles, E.W. Clark merged with Montgomery Scott to become what is now Janney Montgomery Scott. The name on the front door may have changed over the years, but since 1957 George has remained in Hackensack serving the financial needs of his community.

George has also been committed to the welfare of his community through his volunteer work over many years. While a resident of neighboring Maywood in the 1960’s, George served on the town council as Chairman of the Finance Committee. It was during his tenure on the council that the Maywood Pool was founded. Today it continues to be a source of pride and recreational enjoyment to the citizens of Maywood.

In early 1971, George and his growing family moved to Hackensack where his community involvement expanded to include the Boy Scouts of America, being named “Man of the Year” in 1984. The Hackensack Rotary Club honored him as a recipient of the “Paul Harris Award”. He has been an active participant and benefactor to his parish, Holy Trinity Church, where he also served on their finance committee. He became a member of the Board of Governors of the Hackensack University Medical Center starting in 1977, serving as Chairman of their finance committee for many years. He was appointed the Chairman of the Board of Governors and served from 1998 to 2001. He then served as Chairman of the HUMC Foundation from 2001 to 2004. He is currently a member of the HUMC Advisory Board of Governors. In April 2004 his Alma Marter, St. Peter’s University honored him with the Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement. He later served on the Board of Trustees of St. Peter’s University.

Throughout his career at Janney serving as manager of the Hackensack office as well as a member of Janney’s Board of Managers, his philosophy has remained constant, “Client needs first.” That philosophy along with his deep commitment to community has rewarded him with the privilege of serving the financial and investment guidance of not only 2nd but now 3rd generations.

That continuity of commitment to clients and community was secured when his sons Tom and Peter joined him in 1989 and 2000 respectively. George and his wife of 50+ years, June, have 4 children and 10 grandchildren and reside in Hackensack, NJ.
