Kris Kristofferson - Me And Bobby McGee (1979)
#FridayTunes
Kris Kristofferson was an American country music singer, songwriter and actor. He passed away on September 28, 2024. In tribute to him, here is a performance of “Me and Bobby McGee" which he wrote in 1969. The song would become a number 1 hit with Janice Joplin's release in 1971.
Busted flat in Baton Rouge, headin' for the train
Feelin' nearly faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained
Took us all away to New Orleans
I took my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna
And was blowin' sad while bobby sang the blues
With those windshield wipers slappin' time
And Bobby clappin' hands we finally sung up every song that driver knew
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose
Nothin' ain't worth nothin', but it's free
Feelin' good was easy Lord, when Bobby sang the blues
Feelin' good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and Bobby McGee
From the coalmines of Kentucky to the California sun
Bobby shared the secrets of my soul
Standin' right beside me Lord through every thing I done
Every night she kept me from the cold
Then somewhere near Salinas lord, I let her slip away
Lookin' for the home, I hope she'll find
And I've trade all my tomorrows for a single yesterday
Holdin' Bobby's body next to mine
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose
Nothin' ain't worth nothin', but it's free
Feelin' good was easy Lord, when Bobby sang the blues
Feelin' good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and Bobby McGee

Neil Young - Harvest Moon [Official Music Video]
#FridayTunes
The Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumn equinox. It marks the transition from summer into fall and represents a time of year when crops must be picked and stored for winter. The full moon not only marks the peak of harvest but also provides light for harvesting. This year it occurred on September 17th at 10:35 PM EDT. It was also a supermoon and a partial lunar eclipse.
HARVEST MOON
Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away
But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night
Because I'm still in love with you
I wanna see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon
When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart
But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye
Because I'm still in love with you
I wanna see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon
Because I'm still in love with you
I wanna see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon
