About Douglas

Doug is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner and the managing partner of the Velnoskey Wealth Management Group. From the very beginning, he has set the standard for the team motto of “doing the right thing” every day and in every situation for every client.


Before joining Janney, Doug worked with Morgan Stanley and its predecessor Legg Mason Wood Walker Inc. Prior to moving into the financial services industry in 1987, Doug was a partner in Colonial Jewelry Company located in Westminster and Reisterstown. Doug attended Loyola College and the University of Baltimore, where he graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies including management, communications and political science.

 

Doug was born and raised in Carroll County and is personally active in its history, its preservation, and its people. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Historical Society of Carroll County and the Planning Committee for the Carroll Lutheran Village golf tournament. Doug was recognized as a Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Doug is an active member of his church and enjoys traveling with his wife, Pam, their family, and friends.

About Bryan

Bryan joined The Velnoskey Wealth Management Group in January of 2011. Bryan is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner and shares Doug’s passion and caring for a holistic financial planning approach. Bryan is the primary team contact for financial plans and portfolio construction.


Before joining Janney, Bryan worked at Morgan Stanley and RGS Title Company. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park with a major in business administration. Bryan and his wife, Danielle, have three sons.

About Coleen

Coleen started working with the team in 2005 as a Senior Registered Private Client Associate. Determined to be of greater service and value to our clients, Coleen obtained the Certification in Long-Term Care, CLTC®, designation in March 2015 and the Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM, AWMA®, designation in November 2017. Coleen graduated Janney’s Financial Advisor Development Program in July 2018. Coleen is passionate about helping our clients and their families plan for a successful financial future. She oversees our administrative and client relationship services, serves as our estate administrator, and is our team contact for insurance planning.


Prior to joining Janney, Coleen worked with our team at Morgan Stanley and its predecessors. Before moving to Maryland in 2005, she was a Branch Operations Manager, Assistant Vice President at Prudential Securities in Destin, Florida. Coleen graduated magna cum laude from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Administration. Coleen proudly earned the Janney Values Award in 2016, she was the first Chairperson of the Janney Private Client Associate Council, is a Steering Committee member of Janney’s Women’s Interactive Network (WIN), Founding Member and Chairperson of the WIN Mid-Atlantic Chapter and is on the Board of Girls on the Run - Central Maryland.


Giving back and participating in the community is important to Coleen. She is an active member of her church helping with children’s ministries and serves on the Board of Directors for the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. She served on the Board of Directors for the Marriage and Relationship Education Center from 2016 - 2022.


Coleen grew up in an Air Force family and appreciates the unique challenges faced by military families. Her oldest of 5 children is currently serving in the U.S. Navy. Coleen and her husband John live in Taneytown with their family and a handful of energetic fur babies.

About Devin

Devin joined the Velnoskey Wealth Management Group in 2022. He began his financial services career in 2010 and has a passion for shepherding clients through the complexities of their financial lives. He holds a degree in Economics from Fordham University and an MBA in Finance & Accounting from Regis University. Devin is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner as well as a CFA Level II Candidate. Devin collaborates on our investment strategies, portfolio management and financial planning. He supports our client relationships providing personalized financial advice and superb client service.

 

Prior to joining our team, Devin was a Senior Portfolio Strategist for a 400-billion-dollar asset management firm where he covered a diverse, global client base of consultants, advisors and institutional investors providing them objective, actionable insights on multi-asset portfolio construction. His focus was on asset allocation and manager selection while providing macro perspectives with cross-asset and cross-product investment opportunities. During his tenure, Devin penned numerous whitepapers and frequently contributed to the firm’s market insights blog. Prior to that, Devin was a member of the Institutional Securities Group at Morgan Stanley supporting global sales and trading coverage of the firm’s hedge fund and asset management clients in global listed derivatives markets.

 

Outside of work, Devin pursues a wide range of interests including travel, reading non-fiction, golf, and sports analytics. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two dogs: Hausen (German Shepherd) and Beaumont (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel). They are active members of their local community including patronage of the theatrical and culinary arts, equine sports preservation, and classical liberal arts education initiatives.

About Gary

Gary joined the Velnoskey Wealth Management Group in January 2021 as a Registered Private Client Associate. He is our client’s first point of contact for administrative and operational requests. Conscientious and detail-oriented, Gary is committed to being a valuable resource to our clients, working to earn their trust and providing them with efficient service and proactive communication.


While Gary is “new” to our team, he was an operation’s associate in our office when we were at Legg Mason and subsequently Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Gary has most recently worked as a Registered Private Client Associate in one of Janney’s Baltimore offices. Gary has over 22 years of investment service experience.


Gary lives in Hanover, PA, has two children and enjoys going to the gym, mountain biking, following ice hockey, music and baseball. If you watch House of Cards, you may have also seen him alongside Robin Wright and Kevin Spacey. He played a congressman in Season 5 and was in the same room with the Underwoods in Episode 6!

About Kelly

While Kelly is “new” to our team, she was a Registered Associate in our office when we were at Legg Mason and subsequently Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Kelly joined Janney Montgomery Scott in 2009 and most recently worked as a Supervisor of Managers. Kelly has over 26 years of banking and investment service experience. 

 

Kelly is thoughtful, meticulous and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and superior customer service to our team and our clients. She will be assisting as a first point of contact for all administrative requests. 

 

Kelly is a Carroll County, Maryland native.  She married her high school sweetheart and together they have 3 sons and 2 beautiful grandchildren. She enjoys spending time at the beach, reading, and gardening.

About Greg

Greg Drahuschak joined Janney in 1991. He has over 45 years of economic experience and provides daily, weekly, and monthly market commentary, with a particular focus on the equity market, to Janney and our clients.

 

Prior to joining Janney, he worked as a retail broker with—and eventually transitioned into the research departments of—Butcher & Singer and Wheat First Securities. He was also an instructor at Robert Morris College and the University of Pittsburgh.

 

Greg has written articles for several newspapers and websites, and has been the featured financial professional on many live radio broadcasts. 

 

He earned his B.A. in fine arts from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, as well as certificates from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and from the New York Institute of Finance.

About Guy

Guy LeBas is Janney’s Chief Fixed Income Strategist, as well as Head of Fixed Income for Janney Capital Management. As Strategist, he is responsible for providing direction to the Firm’s clients on the macroeconomic, interest rate, and bond market investing climate.

 

Guy authors bond market periodicals, which provide relative value recommendations across the fixed income spectrum. With Janney Capital Management, Guy is responsible for overseeing the Firm’s discretionarily managed bond portfolios, which take a client-tailored approach to generating consistent income across interest rate environments.

 

Guy joined Janney in 2006. Prior to joining Janney, Guy served as Interest Rate Risk Manager for U.S. Trust’s bank asset and liability portfolios, a role in which he oversaw risk and return on $20 billion of bank assets and derivatives.

 

Guy is also a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and Fox Business News, as well as a regular speaker at financial industry conferences. He received his education from Swarthmore College, holds an M.S. in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University, and is a CFA Charterholder.

About Laura

Laura Medigovich is a Vice President and Senior Financial Planner with Janney Montgomery Scott. Ms. Medigovich, who is based out of Purchase, NY, covers the Firm’s Northern region.

 

To support Janney’s clients in achieving their financial goals through sound planning, she coaches Janney’s Financial Advisors and their clients through all aspects of financial planning. Her areas of planning knowledge and experience include retirement, insurance, education, business-succession, estate and legacy, and philanthropic.

 

Ms. Medigovich joined Janney in 2019. Prior to joining the Firm, she was a Vice President, Senior Financial Planner for Wilmington Trust/M&T Bank. There, she was responsible for developing customized wealth-management strategies and financial plans for prominent individuals, families, and business owners. Ms. Medigovich also shared her financial planning experience through a weekly personal finance column in the local Hudson Valley newspaper, the Times-Herald Journal, which she wrote for more than a decade.

 

Ms. Medigovich has achieved a number of professional certifications, including the Certified Financial Plannerᵀᴹ professional designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. She also earned the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter designations from The American College and the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation from the Institute for Certified Bankers.  

 

Other industry-focused programs from which Ms. Medigovich has graduated include the Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management at The University of Virginia, and the Cannon Trust School, Cannon Institute, at Pepperdine University.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland.

 

Ms. Medigovich is a leader in her region’s finance community. Her leadership roles include serving as a member of the Board and the Director of Advocacy for the Greater Hudson Valley Financial Planning Association.

Mark Luschini is the Chief Investment Strategist for Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, leading the Investment Strategy Group. In that capacity Mark is responsible for establishing the Firm’s broad outlook relating to conditions in the capital markets and the economy and to develop investment strategies that align with the best interest, goals, and objectives of individual and institutional clients. He also establishes the Firm’s asset allocation models used for portfolio construction and financial planning.

 

As Chief Investment Strategist, Mark serves as the Janney's investment spokesperson, offering national market commentary and developing asset allocation models and investment strategies. He chairs the investment committee and actively interfaces with both current and prospective clients.

 

Additionally, Mark directs Janney Capital Management, the Firm’s discretionary investment management division. Under his leadership, Janney Capital Management has delivered competitive investment results across multiple strategies. The total assets under management has grown to more than $4 billion, with nearly $3 billion in traditional equity and fixed income assets, and over $1 billion in various strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies utilizing exchange-traded solutions and mutual funds. Mark served on the Board of Managers for Janney, and currently serves as a Trustee for the Firm’s Pension & Profit Sharing Plan. He is a member of the Janney Wealth Management Department’s Mutual Fund and Alternative Investment Committees.

 

In Janney Capital Management, Mark chairs the Investment Committee which sets asset class and sector policy and directly participates in managing the equity, fixed income, and asset allocation strategies under its advisory. Mark has spent more than 30 years in the investment industry. He utilizes that experience to speak on topics related to macroeconomics and investment management at seminars and conferences.

 

His comments and written articles have been circulated in numerous publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal and Barron’s to the New York Times, USA Today, Financial Times, and Money magazine. He has appeared in various media outlets including CNBC, Bloomberg Television, Fox Business News, and CNN.

 

He has a BA and MBA from Gannon University and holds the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation from the Market Technicians Association

About Shurdonna

Shurdonna serves as the Director of Janney’s High Net Worth Consulting group. In this role, she collaborates with Financial Advisors to fully assess clients’ needs, identify a range of potential strategies, and coordinate product solutions for those with significant wealth.

 

Shurdonna has more than 15 years of progressive experience in the investment-management industry. She joined Janney in 2017 as a Senior Financial Planner. Previously, Shurdonna was a Financial Advisor in Vanguard Personal Advisor Services®, where she provided investment guidance and financial-planning services to high-net-worth clients and their families. Shurdonna also served in Vanguard’s Education Savings Group, where she focused on 529 Plans and college-savings strategies. While at Vanguard, Shurdonna had the opportunity to rotate through several of the firm's departments, including Retirement Plan Services, International, and Retail Investor Group, as part of their Accelerated Leadership Development Program.

 

Shurdonna has earned the Certified Financial PlannerTM designation and holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses. She received her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Temple University Beasley School of Law and has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Morgan State University Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management.

 

Shurdonna is an active leader in her region's nonprofit community and currently serves as a board member and a member of the finance committee of Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. She’s also a member of the Financial Ministry at her church, as well as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
