About William

Bill Sewell has worked in the financial services profession for more than 43 years focusing on wealth management for individuals and families, and on the development and management of branch locations for leading firms. Bill works directly with the great people working in our Janney Montgomery Scott offices in Raleigh, Goldsboro, Cary, and Morehead City. 


Bill was chosen to serve on the Managers' Council for three separate terms during his 27-year tenure at Smith Barney (and predecessor firms). There he was honored to be recognized in On Wall Street magazine as one of the country’s “Top 100 Branch Managers”, an award based on nominations from his fellow associates and his firm. Nominees are evaluated on profitability, leadership, dedication to superior client service and their ability to recruit, develop and retain talented advisors. Winners are chosen by a panel of independent judges. He served on The Financial Advisor Board of Scott & Stringfellow. He was also selected to serve on The Branch Office Manager Council at Janney Montgomery Scott and served four years as a member of that council.


Throughout his career, Bill has been active in his church and in the community through his volunteer service and board positions with various charitable organizations.


Bill considers his most important accomplishment to be a shared accomplishment with his wife, it’s their loving marriage of more than 42 years, their four remarkably fine sons, four amazing daughters-in-law and six beautiful grandchildren.

About Peter
With over 30 years of industry experience, Peter J. Adcroft strives to provide excellent service as he guides his clients through the phases of investing: wealth accumulation,  wealth preservation and wealth distribution. Prior to joining Janney, Peter spent 23 years at Smith Barney and later 8 years at UBS Financial Services.

Born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Peter graduated Cum Laude from the University of Rochester with two majors and played varsity football during his 4 years in attendance. He later earned a Law Degree from Wake Forest University prior to entering the financial services field.

Peter is a past board member of the Make a Wish Foundation of North Carolina and coached Pop Warner Football for many years in Raleigh. In his free time, Peter likes to golf, go water and snow skiing, and play pickle ball. He’s been married to his wife, Amy, for over 30 years and together they have 4 children.

About Harlon
Harlon began his career in the financial industry in 1986, serving as Branch Manager and District Manager at American General Finance for 10 years. He then moved on to Wachovia Securities & Wells Fargo Advisors, where he served as Vice President/Financial Advisor for seven years. Prior to joining Janney, Harlon served as Vice President/Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch for 13 years.
 
Harlon obtained his BSBA degree from East Carolina University (ECU), where he studied Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and was a member of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity. Prior to attending ECU, Harlon played for Ferrum College’s football team, under the legendary Coach Hank Norton, during the ’79 and ’80 seasons, which he credits for the instilling of his core values and discipline. Harlon holds the A&H Property and Casualty, Long-Term Care Insurance, and Series 7, 63, and 68 licenses. He is also a Certified Retirement Planning CounselorSM.
 
Harlon has a passion for giving back to his community and investing in the youth for future leadership. He serves as Vice President of Finance for the Tuscarora Council BSA Scouting and Board Member of the Greater Neuse Chapter Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is an active member and previously served as Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Goldsboro and Lt. Governor of the Carolina’s District. Harlon also narrated the Friends of Scouting Recruiting Video and does the color commentary for high school football on his local radio station.
Harlon and his wife, Allison, a Pharmacist at Cherry Hospital, have two children, Cody and Hannah. Cody is currently enrolled in Duke University’s Accelerated Nursing Program, and has an undergraduate degree from East Carolina University. Hannah attends UNC-Wilmington and also plans on pursuing a nursing career.
 
Outside of the office, Harlon enjoys spending time with his family. They enjoy attending Duke, East Carolina, and UNC-Wilmington athletic events, as well as spending time at South Topsail Beach and boating the Intercostal Waterway. Harlon has a passion for ACC basketball history and collecting sports memorabilia, especially Duke. He also enjoys doing color commentary broadcasts for local high school football. Harlon also strives to make a difference in caring for animals, especially cats and dogs, and supporting numerous rescue missions. He lives by the philosophy that every day is a new gift and an opportunity to make a difference.

Dan Wantrobski is Director of Research at Janney Montgomery Scott and has over 20 years of industry experience as a technical analyst and strategist.

 

Mr. Wantrobski spent the first 10 years of his career at Paine Webber and UBS, where he developed his knowledge as a technician and macro strategist following the equity, fixed income, commodity, and currency markets. He has also spent time at Fox Pitt Kelton, Bedford Quantitative, and New Albion Partners. From 2008 to 2016, Mr. Wantrobski served as Janney’s technical strategist.

 

Mr. Wantrobski regularly comments in the media on key issues arising in the industry, with appearances in outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, The Philadelphia Inquirer, CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg TV. He is also a frequent speaker at financial industry conferences, including the Ernst & Young Annual Firm Conference where he has served as a guest speaker for the last five years.

 

Mr. Wantrobski is a Chartered Market Technician ® (CMT) and attended Villanova University, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Finance.

Debra S. Roey joined Janney Montgomery Scott LLC in November 2006, as Janney Retirement Plan Services (JRPS) Manager. JRPS was founded in 1982 to provide Janney’s Corporate Retirement Plan Clients with support in plan design analysis, proposal procurement and review, investment fiduciary services, technical expertise, and problem resolution.

 

Debra has over 30 years of experience in the Retirement Plan arena. Prior to joining Janney, she served as Regional Director with Union Central Life Retirement and Investment Services. During her tenure, she received numerous sales awards including qualification for the company’s highest society membership. Guy LeBas is Janney’s Chief Fixed Income Strategist, as well as Head of Fixed Income for Janney Capital Management. As Strategist, he is responsible for providing direction to the Firm’s clients on the macroeconomic, interest rate, and bond market investing climate.

 

Guy authors bond market periodicals, which provide relative value recommendations across the fixed income spectrum. With Janney Capital Management, Guy is responsible for overseeing the Firm’s discretionarily managed bond portfolios, which take a client-tailored approach to generating consistent income across interest rate environments.

 

Guy joined Janney in 2006. Prior to joining Janney, Guy served as Interest Rate Risk Manager for U.S. Trust’s bank asset and liability portfolios, a role in which he oversaw risk and return on $20 billion of bank assets and derivatives.

 

Guy is also a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and Fox Business News, as well as a regular speaker at financial industry conferences. He received his education from Swarthmore College, holds an M.S. in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Kim Beil serves as Director of the Managed and Insured Solutions Group in Janney Montgomery Scott’s Wealth Management department. In this role, Ms. Beil oversees the daily activities of the Managed and Insured Solutions Group and is responsible for promoting both advisory and insured solutions for the firm.

 

Ms. Beil is an active member of the Firm, the industry, and is involved in several community organizations. At Janney, she is a member of the Firm’s Women’s Interactive Network (WIN). She is also a founding member for Girls on the Run Philadelphia, a non-profit program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. Currently, she volunteers with the Neucrue Cancer Foundation.

Mark Luschini is the Chief Investment Strategist for Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, leading the Investment Strategy Group. In that capacity Mark is responsible for establishing the Firm’s broad outlook relating to conditions in the capital markets and the economy and to develop investment strategies that align with the best interest, goals, and objectives of individual and institutional clients. He also establishes the Firm’s asset allocation models used for portfolio construction and financial planning.

 

As Chief Investment Strategist, Mark serves as the Janney's investment spokesperson, offering national market commentary and developing asset allocation models and investment strategies. He chairs the investment committee and actively interfaces with both current and prospective clients.

 

Additionally, Mark directs Janney Capital Management, the Firm’s discretionary investment management division. Under his leadership, Janney Capital Management has delivered competitive investment results across multiple strategies. The total assets under management has grown to more than $4 billion, with nearly $3 billion in traditional equity and fixed income assets, and over $1 billion in various strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies utilizing exchange-traded solutions and mutual funds. Mark served on the Board of Managers for Janney, and currently serves as a Trustee for the Firm’s Pension & Profit Sharing Plan. He is a member of the Janney Wealth Management Department’s Mutual Fund and Alternative Investment Committees.

 

In Janney Capital Management, Mark chairs the Investment Committee which sets asset class and sector policy and directly participates in managing the equity, fixed income, and asset allocation strategies under its advisory. Mark has spent more than 30 years in the investment industry. He utilizes that experience to speak on topics related to macroeconomics and investment management at seminars and conferences.

 

His comments and written articles have been circulated in numerous publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal and Barron’s to the New York Times, USA Today, Financial Times, and Money magazine. He has appeared in various media outlets including CNBC, Bloomberg Television, Fox Business News, and CNN.

Prior to Vanguard, Martin worked as a Financial Advisor for Morgan Stanley. Mike Halloran serves as an Equity Strategist in Janney’s Investment Strategy Group. Bringing over 20 years of financial service experience to Janney’s established team of professionals, Mike analyzes all asset classes with particular emphasis on equity research.

 

Prior to Janney, Mike was Vice President of Market Strategy for BPU Investment Management Group, and was responsible for the development of the firm’s global outlook and implementation of numerous investment strategies. His previous experience includes performing equity research for large cap core and growth mutual funds, and working in PNC’s investment banking organization supporting M&A, high yield, private placement, loan syndication, and derivative security transactions. He is also an adjunct finance professor and former aerospace research engineer.

 

Mike received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University and his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Shurdonna serves as Vice President and the Director of Janney's High Net Worth Consulting Group. She provides comprehensive solutions designed to effectively address complex issues to help high net worth individuals and families, business owners, corporate executives, professional athletes, and others meet their goals and objectives.

 

Most recently, Shurdonna served as Assistant Vice President & Senior Financial Planner, supporting the advanced financial planning efforts for the Firm's Mid-Atlantic region. She also supported Janney’s clients in achieving their financial goals, provided subject matter expertise, and coached Janney's Financial Advisors and their clients through all aspects of financial planning. Together, they formulate comprehensive financial plans outlining estate, trust, and wealth transfer planning, asset protection, retirement, income tax, and charitable planning strategies.

 

Shurdonna has more than 15 years of progressive experience in the investment management industry. Previously, Shurdonna was a Financial Advisor in Vanguard Personal Advisor Services®, where she provided investment guidance and financial planning services to clients with significant wealth. Shurdonna also served in Vanguard’s Education Savings Group, focusing on 529 plans and college-savings strategies. While at Vanguard, Shurdonna had the opportunity to rotate through several of the firm's departments, including Retirement Plan Services, International, and Retail Investor Group, as part of its Accelerated Leadership Development Program.

 

Shurdonna earned the Certified Financial PlannerTM designation and holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.

 

She received her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Temple University Beasley School of Law and has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Morgan State University Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management.

 

Shurdonna is an active leader in her region's nonprofit community. She is a board member and a member of the finance, DEI, and strategic planning committees of Philadelphia's Magic Gardens mosaic art environment.
