About Douglas

Doug Velnoskey is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®), serving as the senior partner of the Velnoskey Wealth Advisors. Since founding the team, Doug has embodied the principle of “doing the right thing”—a standard that continues to define the group’s client-first philosophy.


With nearly four decades of experience, Doug leads the firm’s efforts in delivering comprehensive family office solutions for high-net-worth individuals, multigenerational families, and business owners. His role centers on aligning clients’ financial decisions with their long-term values through thoughtful generational wealth strategies, coordinated estate planning, and business succession consulting.


Doug works closely with families to help them define and preserve their legacies—facilitating meaningful conversations around stewardship, shared purpose, and charitable impact planning. He frequently partners with estate attorneys, philanthropic advisors, and tax professionals to craft personalized strategies that maximize both financial efficiency and social benefit across generations.


Before joining Janney, Doug held similar roles at Morgan Stanley and its predecessor Legg Mason Wood Walker Inc. Prior to entering financial services in 1987, he was a partner in Colonial Jewelry Company, with locations in Westminster and Reisterstown. He is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Baltimore, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in management, communications, and political science.


A lifelong resident of Carroll County, Doug is deeply committed to the local community and its history. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Historical Society of Carroll County and on the Planning Committee for the Carroll Lutheran Village Golf Tournament. Since 2019, he has been consistently recognized as a Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor.


Outside of the office, Doug enjoys traveling with his wife, Pam, sharing time with their family and friends, and supporting local arts and preservation efforts. He is also an active member of his church.

About Bryan

Bryan Carney is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist℠ (CRPS®) who has been a core member of Velnoskey Wealth Advisors since 2011. As the Head of Planning Solutions, Bryan leads the team’s efforts in designing and delivering customized financial strategies that align with clients’ goals, risk profiles, and evolving life circumstances.


With a deep commitment to holistic financial planning, Bryan serves as the primary contact for comprehensive wealth planning. He specializes in tax-efficient portfolio design and management, helping clients optimize after-tax returns through tailored asset allocation, investment location strategies, and risk-adjusted diversification. Bryan also works closely with clients to evaluate and implement alternative investment strategies, including private equity, private credit, and real asset investment strategies, as appropriate for their financial profiles.


Before joining Janney, Bryan held roles at Morgan Stanley and RGS Title Company. He earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park. Known for his thoughtful and analytical approach, Bryan is passionate about helping clients make informed decisions that support their long-term financial confidence.

Outside of the office, Bryan and his wife, Danielle, stay busy raising their three sons. Together, they enjoy family time, travel, and being active in their local community.

About Coleen

Coleen Kramer Beal is a dedicated Financial Advisor with Velnoskey Wealth Advisors of Janney Montgomery Scott, where she has been serving clients since 2005. With a passion for building enduring client relationships and helping families make confident financial decisions, Coleen plays a key role in delivering private wealth and legacy planning strategies that reflect clients’ values, goals, and multigenerational aspirations.


Within the team, Coleen specializes in insurance solution strategy, guiding clients through risk management decisions that support long-term wealth preservation, retirement readiness, and family protection. Her credentials—including the Certification in Long-Term Care (CLTC®), Accredited Wealth Management Advisor℠ (AWMA®), and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®)—reflect her commitment to offering thoughtful, personalized solutions across life stages, including divorce planning, estate administration, and long-term care planning.


Before joining Janney, Coleen worked with the team at Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firms. Earlier in her career, she served as Assistant Vice President and Branch Operations Manager at Prudential Securities in Destin, Florida. She earned her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Legal Administration from the University of West Florida.


Coleen is also instrumental in shaping the team’s community engagement and client experience initiatives. She proudly earned Janney’s Values Award in 2016, served as the first Chairperson of the Janney Private Client Associate Council, and currently holds a leadership role within Janney’s Women’s Interactive Network (WIN) as Chair of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter (MAC WIN).


Giving back to the community is a personal and professional priority for Coleen. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, the Carroll Community College Foundation, and the Marriage and Relationship Education Center (MREC). She is also a Founding Member and Chair of the Carroll County Women’s Conference. Her extensive volunteer work has been recognized with Honorable Mentions for the Invest in Others Awards in both 2023 and 2024.


Raised in an Air Force family, Coleen understands the unique financial and emotional dynamics military families face. Her oldest child currently serves in the U.S. Navy. Now that her children are grown, Coleen enjoys life with her husband, their three energetic Tamaskans, five rescue cats, and most recently, their first granddaughter, born in May 2024.

Devin joined Velnoskey Wealth Advisors in 2022, bringing a deep background in portfolio strategy, private wealth planning, and business transition advisory. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®), Devin specializes in helping business owners and families navigate the intersection of personal wealth, business value, and long-term legacy planning.


At the core of Devin’s approach is a commitment to next generation private wealth and legacy planning. He partners with clients to design cohesive, multi-generational strategies that integrate business transition readiness with personal financial goals. Whether preparing for a business exit, planning for heirs, or aligning charitable intentions with wealth transfer, Devin works to ensure clients are empowered to make well-informed, tax-efficient decisions that support lasting impact.


In his role, Devin leads the team’s efforts in business exit and transition strategy, acting as both a connector and strategic advisor. He collaborates with a broad network of professionals—including value growth advisors, family enterprise consultants, business brokers, CPAs, estate attorneys, investment bankers, and private equity contacts—to support clients through the full lifecycle of exit planning. His process helps owners assess their readiness, understand their “Wealth Gap,” and build toward a successful and intentional “third act” in life after their business journey.


Devin also brings extensive experience in tax-efficient portfolio design and management. Prior to joining the team, he served as a Senior Portfolio Strategist at a $400 billion global asset management firm, where he advised institutional investors, consultants, and wealth advisors on asset allocation, manager selection, and cross-asset investment opportunities. His work focused on aligning investment strategies with specific client objectives while optimizing for risk, return, and tax considerations. Devin began his career in the Institutional Securities Group at Morgan Stanley, supporting global sales and trading coverage for hedge funds and asset managers in global listed derivatives markets.

Devin holds a degree in Economics from Fordham University, an MBA in Finance & Accounting from Regis University, and is a CFA Level II Candidate. Now based in Florida, Devin expands our team’s ability to deliver personalized, relationship-driven advice to our growing client base across the Southeast.


In his free time, Devin enjoys golf, travel, non-fiction reading, and exploring sports analytics. He and his wife, Jennifer, are frequently joined on their adventures by their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Beaumont and Dash. Together, they are active in their local community, supporting the theatrical and culinary arts, equine sports preservation, and classical liberal arts education.

About Gary

Gary brings over 27 years of investment service experience to his role as Head of Client Services and Operations with Velnoskey Wealth Advisors. Since rejoining the team in 2021, Gary has been a point of contact for clients, overseeing administrative and operational functions with precision and care. Known for his proactive communication and detail-oriented approach, Gary is dedicated to ensuring a seamless and responsive client experience.


In addition to managing daily operations, Gary plays a key role in financial planning coordination and analytics. He supports the advisory team by preparing and maintaining financial plans, organizing client deliverables, and helping to ensure the timely execution of planning strategies. His work helps bridge the gap between client service and the financial advisory process, bringing efficiency, accuracy, and insight to each client relationship.

Gary is no stranger to the team—prior to his current role, he supported the group during their time at Legg Mason and Morgan Stanley. Before returning to Westminster, he most recently served as a Registered Private Client Associate in Janney’s Baltimore office.


A resident of Manchester, MD, Gary is the proud father of two children. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active through mountain biking and going to the gym, and is an avid fan of ice hockey, baseball, and music. He also has a fun claim to fame—he appeared as a congressman in Season 5 of House of Cards, sharing a scene with the Underwoods in Episode 6.

About Beth

Beth joined Velnoskey Wealth Advisors in 2023, bringing with her over 25 years of experience in the real estate and mortgage industry. Known for her strong background in process improvement and technology integration, Beth plays a key role in client experience management, ensuring that each interaction with the team is timely, seamless, and aligned with our commitment to exceptional service.


As the team’s calendar and logistics coordinator, Beth manages the day-to-day scheduling and operational flow for client meetings, internal planning sessions, and special events. She serves as the main point of contact for administrative and scheduling requests, providing proactive communication and dependable follow-through for both clients and team members. Whether coordinating complex schedules or streamlining client onboarding, Beth brings a warm and professional presence to every interaction.


Since moving to Carroll County in 1993 and building her home here in 2001, Beth has become deeply rooted in the local community. She and her husband have two children, and in her free time, she enjoys summer activities, cheering on the Ravens, and relaxing with her family and their beloved senior dog, Phineas.

About Patrick

Patrick joined Velnoskey Wealth Advisors in 2024 and plays a key role in supporting the team’s client service and administrative operations, as well as assisting in financial planning coordination and analytics. Pat is often one of the first team members clients connect with for operational and account-related inquiries, and he takes pride in delivering responsive, reliable, and detail-oriented service.


In addition to handling day-to-day administrative needs, Pat supports the advisory team by helping prepare financial planning materials, assisting with data analysis, and ensuring that client deliverables are accurate and timely. His work bridges the gap between service and strategy, helping to maintain smooth processes behind the scenes while enhancing the overall client experience.


Pat is a graduate of the University of Maryland – College Park, where he earned a degree in Finance and completed the University Honors Program through the Honors College. Prior to joining the team, he interned in the equity research department of a Baltimore-based investment advisory firm. He holds both his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses as well as Maryland Insurance Licenses. Pat is currently studying for the Certified Financial Planner™ designation.

Originally from Frederick, MD, Pat enjoys spending time with his family, trips to the beach, and rooting for the Maryland Terrapins.
